6 Day Tanzania Great Migration Safari

Your safari adventure begins when you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where your safari guide will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha.

The drive to Arusha takes you through scenic countryside with views of Mount Meru rising above the city. Once you arrive at your hotel, you can relax and settle in after your journey.

If you arrive earlier in the day, you may choose to enjoy an optional Arusha city tour. This short excursion allows you to explore local markets, visit cultural centers, and experience the lively atmosphere of Tanzania’s safari gateway city.

Arusha offers a comfortable introduction to Tanzania and provides the perfect setting to prepare for the exciting safari days ahead.

After breakfast, you will depart Arusha and drive toward Tarangire National Park, a beautiful wilderness area located within the Great Rift Valley region.

Tarangire is known for its striking scenery, especially the massive baobab trees that dot the landscape and create one of the most distinctive environments in Tanzania. During your game drive, you may encounter elephants moving through the savannah, giraffes browsing acacia trees, and herds of zebras grazing across open plains.

The Tarangire River is the park’s main water source and attracts a wide variety of animals throughout the year, making it a great place to observe wildlife activity.

After your safari in the park, you will continue to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.

After breakfast, you will begin your journey toward the legendary Serengeti National Park.

The route passes through the beautiful Ngorongoro Highlands, where rolling hills and rural villages create a dramatic change in scenery. As you approach the Serengeti, the landscape gradually transforms into wide open plains that stretch endlessly toward the horizon.

You will begin your first game drive in Serengeti, searching for wildlife across the park’s vast ecosystem. The Serengeti supports one of the richest concentrations of animals in Africa, including lions, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, and large grazing herds.

Depending on the time of year, you may already encounter the Great Migration moving through this region.

Today you will spend a full day exploring the wildlife-rich landscapes of Serengeti National Park.

Your guide will carefully plan the day’s route to maximize wildlife sightings and track the movement of the Great Wildebeest Migration. During the migration season, thousands of animals move across the plains creating an incredible wildlife spectacle.

You may also encounter predators such as lions resting in the grasslands or cheetahs scanning the open savannah, while large herds of grazers spread across the landscape.

With so much wildlife activity, every moment in the Serengeti offers a new discovery.

Another day in the Serengeti allows you to explore different wildlife areas within the park, increasing your chances of experiencing more unforgettable encounters.

Your guide may take you to river areas, open plains, or woodland regions depending on where wildlife activity is strongest. Each area offers unique opportunities to observe animal behavior and enjoy the beauty of the Serengeti landscape.

The ever-changing scenery and abundant wildlife make every game drive unique, ensuring that your Serengeti experience remains exciting from start to finish.

After breakfast, you will leave the Serengeti and travel toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Upon arrival, you will descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, a massive volcanic caldera filled with wildlife. The crater floor offers exceptional game viewing opportunities in a compact and scenic environment.

During your game drive, you may see lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, zebras, and possibly the endangered black rhino.

After your safari in the crater, you will return to Arusha where your Great Migration safari concludes.
